3rd ANNUAL PUNK ROCK PICNIC

The 3rd annual PUNK ROCK PICNIC blew up this past Saturday in Hidden Valley park at Verizon Amphitheatre! There were over 35 punk bands from all over the Southern California area tearing up the 3 stages placed around the gigantic event area. The masses descended on the park early in the morning, with some even spending the night there the day before! The grass was filled with everyone from the mowhaked youth, to hippy punks, to old school “I saw them when” guys. There was a whole new generation of kids as most parents brought their groms to their very first punk show.
The mini pipe was set up in perfect view of the main stage so that …Lost team manager and two time Ultimate Boarder gold medalist Chad Shetler wouldn’t miss any of the bands as he, Dave Ruel, Duane Peters, and others took turns shredding the ramp to the live soundtrack coming from bands like Youth Brigade, Naked Aggression, DMF, The Dickies, and D.I. They even had the heckler couch set up in front of it so that the boys could take second to relax and cheer on the others as the took their runs.
…Lost artist Theresa Lavelle had an exhibition at the event as well doing a one of a kind painting on the hood of a old Jaguar, complete with working headlights! The …Lost booth was in the middle of the action along with over 20 other vendors that came out to support this grassroots event and support the Southern California Punk scene, and for the real cause of the event, to help spread and raise awareness for the Autistic childrens foundation.
There were live FMX demos throughout the day as the bands got the crowd frothing and pitting to the some of the old school punk rock tunes. The event culminated late in the evening at the Supersuckers took the main stage and rocked the park until the end. The day turned out to be an amazing event for the over 2000 people who came out to enjoy a day of Punk Rock and action sports in the middle of Orange County! Special thanks to Scott Litwak for inviting …Lost to be part of the event, and to Dave Ruel for use of his mini ramp. Check out the video below and pictures in the Punk Rock Picnic Photo Gallery.
Special thanks to Gunther Estrada for the pics!
