…for the second time at the final event of the 2013 Women’s World Tour in Portugal. Carissa officially won the title when Tyler Wright lost out in the quarter-finals but for good measure she won the Cascais Girls Pro in rippable 2-3 foot Guincho beach break. Carissa worked closely all year (and most of her professional career) with …Lost co-founder and shaper Matt “Mayhem” Biolos. In a cruel twist of fate, Tyler Wright battled Carissa all year on one board she somehow got from us. Both women put on an entertaining fight all year and we congratulate them. Carissa looking very focused coming into the final event. She rode her Mayhem shaped board with Hydroflex glassing.
Carissa’s cheer squad. Not surprisingly that’s Michael Ho hiding from the cameras. According to the Encyclopdia of Surfing by Matt Warshaw he is described as “Gregarious around friends and family, the mustachioed Ho (keeps) a wary distance from the rest of the surf world”. Strangely Mr. Warshaw has everything you need to know about Kylie Webb but nothing on Chris Ward or Cory Lopez… or Matt King.
