Here are some pics of the heat between last year’s US Open champ Julian Wilson, Kolohe Andino and Sebastian Zietz in Huntington the other day. It ended up being a contest between KA and JW and since it was 3-man heat we got to see some good ‘ol Huntington Beach paddle battles. The kids were going at each other like two brothers from different mothers. See the drama in still pics below. The boys are going to go at it again in the round of 16 tomorrow. “Here we go…”
“Beat the kid… beat the kid… beat the kid…”
Tail high Kolohe turn.
Julian keeping the tail in the water.
KA wrapping back and keeping the tail in too.
Kolohe looks like he needs more sun screen on those lips.
The boys def went to the air too.
Whether it was frontside or backside.
That last Hurley Indo trip we did was fun but…
“I think I’m gonna go right”
“Nah, I’m going left”
Both the boys are using the new FCS2 fin system.
Julian went huge on a couple but couldn’t land one for a huge score.
Julian’s nailed the biggest score of the heat on the lefts. Just like how he won last year.
Kolohe stomped his airs and ended up taking the win.
That’s all folks.
