KYLE'S STORY:
I went out with the boys the other day to discuss the current situation in Iraq over some sodas. After a heated conversation, I went for a skate to the local skate park and hung out with the local kids. In the afternoon I donated blood, volunteered at a local shelter and took a nap by the ocean while feeding the pigeons. Don’t know how, but I woke up without my pants.

The D-Man festival is an event to remember a friend and Dive N’ Surf employee Darren “D-Man” Marsee who passed away from Lymphoma back in 2005. We were happy to be part of the festival and help raise money for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

GABRIEL VILLARAN WINS 3 STAR WQS ARICA PRO Congrats to Peruvian Gabriel Villaran who won the recent WQS 3* at El Gringo in Arica, Chile riding his ...Lost Surfboard. Gabriel is a really good backside tube rider (he's good in the small stuff too). He made the finals of the '06 Pipeline WQS in perfect 8-10 foot conditions and scored one of the contest's only perfect 10's. The championship this year was a total success. At times, it seemed like a deja vu of the same contest a year prior, when the sun also shined all day. The waves did not stop coming large and perfect throughout the event. Then when he won he also had the biggest smile.

LUKE DAVIS WINS SUN DIEGO PRO 4/21/09 - 16 year old ...Lost Surfboards rider Luke Davis took first place and $2,000 at the Sun Diego Pro contest last Saturday at Scripps Pier. Kolohe Andino, riding his Mayhem Shape, finished second behind Luke in the Pro division. Both surfers took out a slew of Pro surfers that can actually drive themselves to the beach like Brandon Guilmette, Cory Arambide and Ricky Whitlock. Best result came from Cristobal de Col who landed the 16th spot in the under 16 division, and the best result overall came from Carlos Mario Zapata who finished 11th on his Mayhem shape also in the under 16 division. Shop of the Week - Secret Spot Surf Shop Secret Spot Surf Shop is one of the original surf shops on the Outer Banks with one of the biggest selection of Lost men's, boy's and jr's on the Outer Banks.
The shop is run by one of the top girl surfers on the East Coast Leanne Foster who took second in last years East Coast Championships, actually she would of gotten first but she caught a bomb out of bounds due to the heavy current so they gave her second.

Gorkin wins the inaugural Landshark Spring Surfari Pro held at his home break. In what was an epic event held at one of the east coast's most consistent waves, the surfers stood out as the performance level rivaled that of a WQS event. Gorkin started his push in the Quarterfinals and never looked back as he dropped scores in the high 7 to high 9 range all day. The waves were a consistent 2-4 feet all day and the competitors were amped up. Also, when you lost you got to go have cold beers in the competitors area, thanks to Landshark. So, Gorkin wanted to

Lost skate team manager Chad Shetler, took a quick trip to skate with a few of the Lost Peru skate team riders. Little did he know, he had come across some of South Americas most talented Peruvian skaters-Daniel Suarez, Burro, and the Bat!

Check out these two sequences of Mason taking the axe to the head. He showed up the other afternoon to Pipe with only his 6' 7". He didn't know how the conditions were so thats all he grabbed from the pad. So Mason decided to surf with his buddies Adam Crawford and pipe standout Kawai, Masons cousin. Mason scored a couple good backdoor and pipe barrels early in the session. ...LOST PERU TEAM RECENT WINS Gabriel Villaran landed second at the WQS in Puerto Escondido a little while ago and then finished in third at the WQS Movistar Pro in San Bartolo, Peru a week ago or so. Sebastian Alarcon won the thing on a Mayhem and landed second at the ALAS in Colombia –must have been distracted over there with something, we heard the girls in Colombia are smoking –also on his beloved Mayhem board. MASON QUALIFIES FOR 2009 PIPE MASTERS 2/7/2009 - Mason Ho qualified for the 2009 Pipe Masters yesterday by finishing in the top 8 of the HIC Pipeline Pro. The waves at Pipe were heavy to say the least with solid 10 foot sets (maybe bigger depending on where you're from) coming through. Mason charged the whole contest and had to beat out Pipe heavies like Pancho Sullivan to secure a spot in the 2009 WCT Pipe Masters this December (the same contest Ward placed 2nd at in 2008). Mason had this to say, "I'm so happy, a dream come true for sure". Congrats Mason.

SI PRO UPDATE!! PAT GUDAUSKIS WINS 1/10/08 San Clemente's Pat Gudauskis won the SI Pro against another San Clemente local Mike Losness. He dedicated the win to our good friend Jack Meyer who passed away last year at this time while jogging in Melbourne Beach. Waves were 2 foot (shoulder high+ sets), glassy and fast - resembling a semi-closed out mix between Rivvi and the Pier. Semifinalists were Sterling Spencer and Nathaniel Curran. Asher Nolan had the highest heat scores that last few rounds but the waves starved him in the quarters.
We had a long day in the sun which was a sweet change from the last few days.
LOST.TV - 3 DAYS IN CALIFORNIA WITH SHEA LOPEZ 1/30/2008 - Last weekend Shea came to California to throw shakas and high fives at the ASR trade show and pick up some new boards. ...LOST ARTIST PINKY TAYLOR BACK FROM HAWAII ...Lost featured artist Pinky Taylor recently visited the island of Oahu in Hawaii to do a live art exhibition making custom Hats, Tees, and windows at The H.I.C. stores in Pearlridge and Ala Moana.
Pinky had some of his art for sale at H.I.C as well. While he was there he put a lot of smiles on the little bruddahs and sistas with his hat and tee creations and the fact that he is quite possibly the nicest guy in the world.

The waves are not classic Pipe but there are still some barrels, most of them on the rights. Devon Tresher advances into the quarterfinals after blazing through all his earlier heats and scoring one of only four 10s in the event. Mason was in the same heat but basically got hassled from start to finish by Brasilian transplant Kiron Jabour - Kiron lost too.

EXPOSURF 2008 (Peruvian tradeshow) was a blast! We took it upon ourselves, once again, to promote debauchery, buffoonery and nothing other than good times. We didn’t sell a single shirt, because we gave everything away including shirts, posters and stickers. After a couple whiskeys, yaggers, barenas, piscos and the like - Milton had to strap down the surfboards with locks so our employees didn’t give them away to the first wonderer asking for a sticker or toilet paper. Once, there was a kid who knew this crazy doctor. One day the doc asked the kid to meet him at an empty parking lot located at Catalyst surf shop. There, the doc asked the kid to test drive this car that runs on plutonium. When the kid hit 88 mph, the car disappeared leaving two fire & rubber skid marks on the ground and waking up the bums sleeping next to the shop.
The kid showed up at the shop a few minutes later with this crazy story about traveling back in time. Everyone at the shop laughed at him and told him to get the hell out.

The movie premiere went off this last friday at the Catalyst, ...LOST headquarters in San Clemente. Slater returned to the probably the only shop to ever be kicked out of (17 years ago before he won Lowers he wanted a ding repair and the drunk then-owner booted him -but then repaired it the next day). Shetler built the stage where the Scrid Hunters played traditional punk rock for all in attendance. And it was some damn good shit. Robo was in attendance. HALEIWA PRO- WQS 6 STAR - VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS Contest is over. What an epic day of surfing after the wind switched. Im glad I turned on the computer when the quarters started. Haleiwa was a bigger version of V-land. Spitting barrels across the reef. More of a tube fest than a actual contest. Wardo had a good run until a shocker quarter which saw him out of position and out of rhythm. But then he did get a sick barrel and then did a couple of flowing hard hacks and got a 6. Tupat "The Ultimate Grueler", Nils "Obama" Schweizer, Casey "the Sheriff" collins, and of course Count Gorkula. The stripper pole got plenty of use as the young hotties danced and trapsized about at the new Castle (Gorkins house). Looks as though some of the younger crew tried to sneak in as Golden boy Evan G, was seen in the photos. Mason Ho wins the Pro Junior. Mason completely dominated the Pro Jr final with the highest combined heat total of the event 19.01 - his last wave should have been a ten. ASP World Tour number six, C.J. Hobgood blazed to victory in an Australia heavy final at the International Surfing Association (ISA) World Surfing Games. Hobgood, who was in full form through out the event, bested Aussies Kai Otton, Dayyan Neve and Heath Joske to claim the Open Mens gold medal and secure a silver medal for Team USA. However, Australia was able to defend their gold medal team finish, making it their third consecutive win in a row.

Well we had another day of over 100 degree temperatures. No Joke.. The surfing was hot as well. Mason Ho made it through a tight heat into the round of 32. Chris Ward made it up just in time to lose his heat going for broke. He may have lost but at least he didn't safety stance half turns into the cove. Jeff Kargola FMX finals at the Dew Tour The final stop of the Dew Tour, in Orlando FL, ..LOST FMX team rider Jeff Kargola made it through the prelims against current overall leaders Adam Jones, Blake "Bilko" Williams, and Robbie Maddison. When it was all said in done, Adam Jones took the win with Robbie Maddison 2nd and Jeremy Lusk in 3rd. Jeff Kargola finished up 5th overall- his best finish of the year.

I was sitting on the edge of Lake Michigan in downtown Chicago having dinner smack dab in the middle of the city. It was one of those moments that had me reeling with stoke and grateful for such experiences. It always amazes me just how different the world outside of Laguna Beach is. I enjoyed sitting there last night watching the water taxis coming down the river and the peach-colored lights of the sunset bouncing off the forest of tall buildings. Just to the right was the famous Sears Tower, which seemed bigger than life itself.

Pig dogging on the shoulder in front of the barrel is all Aritz could do given the wave he caught. It is not his fault the judges scored it like he was actually in there. IF the judges had the same angle we had on the webcast (does anyone know?) then the head judge should really intervene cuz they are either not fit to judge or somebody is playing favorites.

finals of the Quiksilver Pro in France. Ace fought hard throughout

Chendo won Open Mens on his Mayhem, Alessandro Luis landed second in Juniors on his Mayhem, Lucca Mesina won under-12 and leads the rankings, Natalia Labarthe got 3rd in girls under 18 and won girls under 14 while Melanie Giunta landed 2nd in girls under 14.

The final stop of the Peruvian National Circuit was in Huanchaco this weekend and our surfboard team riders dominated the pumping surf. Cristobal took Juniors and crowned himself Peruvian National Champion of the division. He also made the Open Men’s final and got 3rd, which secured him a 6th spot in the overall Open Men’s ranking. 12/12/07 - It was a Vland treat. The weather started off grumpely and then went into a hayday of glassy waves and big turns. Wardo rode his 5'8'' Gullwing to start things off and then opted to ride The Rocket man's board. The 5'3'' Rocket (Shane Beschen model). Shane was ripping the gullwing and got pitted in the blueroom or greenroom? Not sure which one it was but he was there. US Open Circus day 1__You Missed It! Team ...Lost dominates Battle of the Brands event!...at least the first round. We smoked the field in the first round of The Battle Of The Brands, scoring the highest combined heat score of the first round. The contest was a tag team event with each brand's team of four surfers. We looked the strongest on paper going into the final but then things just didn't go our way. Shea's double-wammy wave was a 1.0 and we even managed to get fined 5 points for not getting our last person into the beach. We did finish fourth so that's not too bad.
MASON HO GETS SECOND AT SUNSET PRO JR - QUALIFIES FOR WORLD JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS 9/20/2007 - Mason Ho placed second behind John John Florence in the Billabong Pro Jr at Sunset Beach last weekend. In the process Mason qualified for the ASP World Junior Championships in Australia (the same contest Mason placed third in last year). Mason snatched the only perfect 10 of the contest in his round three heat against Nathan Rex, Dege O'Connell and Clay Marzo. He weaved through an incredibly deep right tube, exiting clean with a stylish cutback to boot. This was hands-down the best of his three barrels in that heat.( ...Full Story

Like a weird rash, or a funky smell in the back seat of the car, some things you just can’t get rid of. just not a good day. Wardo unfortunately did not advance and the
weather continued to be shitty. I thought today was going to be an off
day, that's until Joe Alani called me to inform me that he and
Wardo were going to Haleiwa. I showed up and the rest is
history. Wardo rode his 5'8'' Gull-Wing and surfed with classic

The Final AM Slam Stop Sun Diego’s 1st annual amateur skate contest series has come to an end. The AmSlam Finals went down this past Sunday at the Clairemont Skatepark. As expected, we witnessed some of the best skating from the entire series on Sunday. All the AmSlam Finalists earned their spot based on points accumulated through the first 5 stops, so congratulations go out to everyone who qualified. But once there, the playing field was evened and everyone was given 2 one-minute runs on the newly remodeled Clairemont street course.

Stop 4 of Sun Diego’s AmSlam Presented by Monster happened this past Saturday, this time at the Escondido Skatepark. The Escondido park is a bit burlier than some of the other parks in the AmSlam series and I wasn’t sure how well the skaters would adapt. Few clips of Kyle Berard X Games Super Park With the new addition to the super park this year Kyle Berard was invited back to the X games 14 circus. It was Kyle's first appearance since 2003 were he finished 10th and in 2002 he finished 3rd in street.
Kyle killed it on Saturday qualifying 2nd out of 20 and advanced to Sunday were they took the top two from each heat of 5 along with the top 3rd place finisher to take it to the finals.
Kyle had his backcrails, barley grinds and cab back lips on lock and placed 3rd but he was taken out by flyaways and a full set a pads Andy Macdonald who had a higher 3rd place score.

Here’s Babas on the cover of Slide Magazine, hitting a rail in Peru’s subway (there really isn’t one but it looks like one…), and Jose hitting every corner of Buenos Aires-Argentina in a 5 page article for Grind magazine. Peru Update We held our latest Board Demo at Playa Blanca. The waves were solid 8 feet and kindda closing out so the boards got tested under some heavy conditions. “Pallaron” stole the show whipping his 200 lbs around on a 5’6 RNF in some serious surf. That’s what good design can do!

Stop #1 AmSlam 6 stop Amateur Skateboarding Contest Series Sun Diego's AmSlam Series got underway this past Saturday with Stop 1 at the Clairemont Skatepark. Nearly 100 skaters came out to compete, and every one of them walked away with a little prize package. The top 3 winners in each division got hooked up with a fat bag of goodies and a Trophy Deck for their wall. Diego Najera was the big winner of the day, placing 1st in the Advanced Division and taking home $500 cash and an automatic ticket to the Finals on August 24th.
