Twin Fusilage Technology

TFT - “Twin Fuselage Technology”

…Lost Surfboard’s self developed, custom surfboard technology. Originally inspired by KS’ parallel stringer surfboards he was seen experimenting with a couple years back, but dramatically elaborated on and fine-tuned over the course of 2010. The goal was to create an exciting and lively board with a unique combination of firm drive and explosive flex at the same time….at an affordable price. It starts with two parallel stringers set 13” apart, which create a more rigid and stable platform under the surfer’s body weight, thus making the board faster and reducing both lengthwise sag and torsion when pumping down the line, hopping through flats, or pushing through turns. The tail, having no stringer, loads up and stores energy under back foot pressure, then smoothly snaps back for radical and instantly noticeable bursts of speed out of turns. The strategically placed twin carbon strips gradually elongate the flex pattern in the tail, while at the same time reinforces the gap where the stringers end and keep the tail rails from crushing in. The Carbon strips on top and bottom of the nose allow it to still flex and be more forgiving in full rail burying turns, but just as importantly lessen the chance from snapping off if pokedinto the sandy bottom of a shallow beach break. Built with standard P/U “Surf Blanks America” blanks with twin (2.7mm), triple ply stringers and traditional PE resin glassing, we’ve created a fast, flexible, lively and very cost effective, custom order able, alternative to the typical single stringer surfboard… without breaking your bank.
